Alicia Popoff was born in 1950 in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan, where she received her Master and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees at the University of
Saskatchewan. She has been a practicing artist and art instructor for over twenty years. During her
career she has shared her knowledge of the visual arts by teaching in schools, community colleges,
art galleries, and at the University of Saskatchewan.
Popoff has exhibitions across Canada since 1985. Her work is
in a number of public and private art collections, including Canada Council Art Bank, Saskatchewan
Arts Board, Air Canada, Great West Life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, etc.
Popoff’s main artistic interest is exploring the intuitive and inventive
avenues of art, whether through painting, mixed media, or sculpture. Her ability to exquisitely handle complicated
media and a wide range of scale of works with skills, intellect and imagination is remarkable.
