Over the last several years – on self-assigned projects and in-class ones –
I have been creating various images of creatures, interiors, characters and scenes from our everyday life transformed
though my vision as an artist. The ideas behind most of my works came to my mind accidentally, without me trying to
find them somewhere or explore them intentionally. Once I have my rough “plan” for my piece, I start
exploring and finding different perspectives that lead to more ideas and ways of looking at my art.
Humor and metaphors are two irreplaceable elements of my art. My works are not about big ideas. Instead, they are about
moments in life, feelings leading to different moods – either happy and tranquil or dark and mysterious but always
including the element of humor.
For the past few years I have dealt with various printmaking techniques such as silkscreen printing, linocuts, and intaglio.
However, the last one is my passion and I am in a process of exploring it. I have always tried to push the limits of the
intaglio printing and see how far I can go with what I have as knowledge and skills.
