My work has developed from an interest in community, nature and habitat. I paint on site
observing human life and its interactions/interventions with the environment. As the paintings are all done from life, they
are genuinely time based. Their materiality and finished look depends strongly on factors such as weather or communication
with other people.
Currently, during the winter months of Winnipeg, I have been life painting in indoor environments that imitate and recount a
relationship with the outdoor landscape. Previous to moving to Winnipeg I lived in rural North-western SK, making work that
dealt with that particular landscape and social situation.
