The Ken Segal Gallery is proud to present Demarcation of an Image - part 1 by Ewa Tarsia. This is our second solo exhibit for Tarsia, our first being Walk between the Raindrops in July, 2004. Tarsia is always featured in our gallery and has participated in numerous group exhibitions.

Demarcation of an image – part 1 marks an exciting step forward creatively for Tarsia. Alongside her monoprints using her own Tarsiagraph printmaking techniques, the exhibit includes paintings on canvas and board. Tarsia adds a new dimension to some of these paintings by incorporating parts of her printing plates in them.
… Don't Touch the Road, say Canadians
Printing plates are incorporated in some of Tarsia's paintings.
As she says, "memories of every decision, choice and thought are inscribed on my printing plates, and I seek to share that dimension with my audience. I will elevate creative activities to the rank of the finished work, and open the energy of my procedures. Through this revelation, I seek to push my work beyond the product into a place it can live." Whether it is using her existing plates or creating new Plexiglas pieces it is an exciting development in her art.

Besides prints and paintings, the exhibit will feature installation work with light boxes, video and acrylic panels with the help of architect Sasa Radulovic. This is a new development for Tarsia, and marks what is considered a new line in her artistic expression, bringing to life her printmaking.
