Scratching the Surface: The Post-Prairie Landscape is a book about the project
of the same name exhibited at Plug In ICA from September 14 to November 24, 2007. Curated by Steven Matijcio, the
exhibition is “a multi-platform, cross-disciplinary project exploring the changing face of Winnipeg through a
genre that continues to haunt the Canadian subconscious”.
19 Manitoba artists participated in the project. They were Keith Berens, Melanie Bone, Paul Butler, Daniel Dueck,
Simon Hughes, Jean Klimack, Wanda Koop RCA, Sylvia Matas, Kazuteru Miyauchi, Kim Ouellette,
Robert Pasternak, David Perrett, Tim Schouten,
Doug Smith, Jennifer Stillwell, Ewa Tarsia RCA,
Esther Warkov RCA, Calvin Yarush and Collin Zipp.
