Tanis Dick received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours degree from the University of Manitoba
majoring in ceramics with a concentration in printmaking in 1989. She focused on sculptural work in clay using primitive and sagger
firing techniques.
In 1993 Tanis received a Master of Arts in Art Therapy from Norwich University in Montpelier, Vermont. Following graduate study,
she lived in St. Petersburg, Florida, where, for seven years, she worked as a Clinical Art Therapist and continued her clay work at
the St. Petersburg Clay Company and Hot Alley Studios. She has exhibited in St. Petersburg at The Museum of Fine Arts, The Arts Center,
and The Tim Salen Memorial Gallery.
In 2001 Tanis's sculptural work is featured in the book The Ceramic Spectrum (2nd Edition) by internationally-known
ceramic artist Robin Hopper. Today, she maintains an art therapy practice in Winnipeg. She continues to work in clay using wheel-thrown
and sculptural forms. As an artist and a registered-and-board-certified art therapist, Tanis actively involves in local community
art programs and art and art therapy related workshops.
