Born in Winnipeg, Valerie Metcalfe studied at the University of Manitoba where she received her B.F.A. (honours) degree in ceramics. Her work has been shown both nationally and internationally. Her work won Best In Show at both the 1996 and 1994 Manitoba Crafts Council Juried Spring Shows. Metcalfe’s work is represented in public and private collections in Canada, the United States, England, Germany, France, Korea, Japan, Australia and Jamaica. She is a full-time potter, living in Winnipeg.
